Robert and Ben lead Canterbury with a shared background in design, development, and prudent capital execution.
Prior to founding The Canterbury Company, Ben was Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Ramston Capital, an integrated real estate development and investment firm he established in 2017. He holds a Bachelor's degree in History from The University of the South, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Robert D. Hoover, III is President of The Canterbury Company. Prior to founding the firm, Robert acted as Director of Development for Ramston Capital, having joined Ramston following their first project. Robert is a member of the Urban Land Institute and an associate member of the AIA. Robert attended Tulane University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, a Minor in the Business of Real Estate Development, and a Master of Architecture. A Nashville native, Robert is a proud alumnus of Montgomery Bell Academy.
Robert and Ben spent years building a portfolio together, delivering attainable housing to a generation of residents moving to the Southeast. That work taught them what residents need first, and what they aspire to next. Over time, that same population has grown into the region, deepening its roots and turning toward better schools, an elevated lifestyle, and a more considered place to live. Canterbury was built for this, to perform across cycles, not just one.
